It’s the most wonderful time of theeeeee yeaaaar. It’s starting to get cooler and the holidays are fast approaching. My kids are asking me “how many days til Christmas?!” every.single.day. I may get annoyed but I secretly love it all. I love this time of year and spending time with family and friends.
Besides coming together with everyone, I love love love the seasonal food this time of year. Soups, stews, crock pot meals, Christmas cookies and all the hot chocolate you can drink. Like this peppermint white hot chocolate! I took my Starbucks white hot chocolate and added peppermint to make it even more festive and delicious.

This drink does NOT have any coffee in it, just milk, peppermint and white chocolate. If you want a white chocolate coffee drink, check out my white chocolate mocha or white chocolate vanilla latte.
What’s in a white peppermint hot chocolate?
The great thing about this white chocolate drink is that there are only 3 ingredients! Yup, you read that right – THREE! The even better part is that it’s a super versatile recipe and you can customize it to your liking. The three ingredients that you need are:
- milk
- white chocolate sauce
- peppermint syrup
Let’s talk about the milk in this peppermint white hot chocolate recipe real quick. You can use any kind of milk here. If you are dairy-free then use almond or coconut milk. I would suggest using the unsweetened version of those milks, if possible. Otherwise, regular ole whole or 2% milk work just fine in this recipe.
White chocolate sauce. Oh how I love white chocolate sauce in all.the.things. There are few options here for the white chocolate sauce part of this recipe. You can either make homemade white chocolate sauce, buy white chocolate sauce in the store or online, or you can use white chocolate chips.
The last thing you are going to need is peppermint syrup. Again, you can make use homemade peppermint syrup, store bought peppermint syrup or you can even use a bit of peppermint extract. I used the Torani peppermint syrup in my peppermint white hot chocolate and it comes out amazing, every time!
I know I said this recipe is only three ingredients but the toppings are optional. Totally delicious and highly recommended, but optional. I love adding whipped cream, crushed candy canes and marshmallows to mine. The kids and I love using these peppermint flavored mini marshmallows on top of ours!
