I had this amazing idea to mod podge a pumpkin with lace one day. I bought some lace with spiders on it was beyond excited to try it out. Well it turned out to be a big fat fail. The first time. The second time it turned out perfect!
You see that? Dont try to wrap your pumpkin with one giant piece of lace. Its basic geometry.. I think. A square piece of fabric doesnt fit on a round pumpkin. I was really bummed about this and I pouted for a few days. Then I realized what I had to do to make the perfect mod podged lace pumpkin!
Instead of one big piece of lace I cut it into strips first. Genius! That made the process alot smoother.. and I didnt pout too much.
Cover and area of your pumpkin with mod podge then place the lace over it. Pat on more mod podge so that it adheres to the pumpkin. There will be bare spots where your lace doesnt touch.. just cover the spot with another strip of lace.
This little guy was a late addition to my Halloween mantel.. but he fits in perfectly. Eek! I love my mod podge pumpkin! So Halloween-y. [Thats totally a word!]
Oh.. did I mention I made that guy from my craft stash? Last week I shared my messy craft room and we were challenged to share a project that we made from our supplies on hand. Well.. that pumpkin is a supplies on hand kinda craft.
Ta-da! This is my clean craft room! Yes there are still deer heads in my craft room.. but its clean! And workable! I had a whole cardboard box of ball jars and I put them to good use. I used an old wire hanger to hold my ribbon and organized my fabric into the plastic container next to the desk.
My desk is clean and I got right to work making some fall/Halloween loveables. These bad boys will be in the shop soon. It makes me laugh that my desk storage area is empty but I have baskets on the wall. Little people with little fingers get into everything.. so I hung stuff above their little heads. If I go missing for a few days search my craft room first. I may just live in there.. and it may just be the cleanest room in the house right now. [Dont judge]
