Creamy and cool, this iced coconut chai latte is perfect for summer. Or anytime.
Yall. We got another dog. I should say, another dog found us. Last Sunday I was coming home from the grocery store and as I was pulling in the driveway I see a black dog sitting under the tree. I called it from the car to make sure it was ok and then pulled up to the house. I unloaded groceries and told Ryon about the dog. He thought it was one of the neighbors so he went out to grab her and bring her home.
But she wasn’t the dog he was thinking about and she was limping pretty badly.
Talk about tug at my heart strings. She was very skiddish but a sweet dog. We gave her some food and water and put her in the backyard. Our vet is closed Sunday so I called Monday after dropping the kids at school. I asked what would be the best thing to do with a stray that might have been hit by a car and they said bring her in.
I drove home to get her and she had escaped the backyard. I called the vet back and told them that she got out again but I would look for her.
I looked for her, I called for her and I left food and water out front for her. No sign of the limping puppy. I dropped the kids off Wednesday morning and headed back home to do some work. And there was the dog, sitting on the front porch whining for me to pet her. I called the vet back, said the dog had some back and I was on my way.
One semi-large vet bill later that included sedation for an x-ray and all her shots, we headed home.
We still aren’t sure what happened to her back leg. The vet tried to put her hip back in place when she was sedated, but he said the ligaments were to loose and suggested surgery. Which we will schedule for this coming week.
For now, she gets around just fine on her 3 legs. She has integrated with the other two dogs and has even taken up residence on the couch. She is super sweet and cries when she has to go out. She’s quickly become part of the family.
We named her Penelope Rose, Penny for short. And don’t ask me why I give our pets middle names.. I just do! So friends.. meet Penny. The newest member of the Grant clan.
And now for this delicious iced coconut chai latte. Did you know you can buy flavored chai teas?! Boom pow! That was my head exploding when I found out that gem. I bought a little sample pack and coconut chai was included. So good! So so good. Or if you want you can try regular chai with coconut syrup. You’re call. Either way it’ll be delicious.
