Im pretty sure Im obsessed with fabric art. It started with the painted anchor I did for Avery’s birthday.. and I havent put down the fabric or staple gun yet. Ok.. maybe I have to shower and take care of the kids.
I saw this bird cage wood piece thingy at Michaels on clearance. Yup. Youre mine bird cage wood piece thingy. I also went to Joanns and scored some super cute fabric on sale. (Plus I bought my first pair of Gingher scissors! They cut fabric like its butttttah!) I used an open back frame that I had in my stash and went to work.
I used the same technique to apply the fabric that I did with Avery’s anchor frame. Instead of painting on the fabric I hot glued the bird cage on. I had painted the bird cage the day before but didnt think I need to show that part for the tutorial. 1. Buy clearance wood art. 2. Paint it.
I love how the colors go together! Ohhh.. ahhh. I saw on another blog (I forgot which one!!) something similar, but instead of fabric she used scrapbook paper. It was super cute.. and if you know the site (or your reading this and it was you..) please let me know so I can give you credit. Bad blogger.. I know!
A little birdie told me that all my readers are amazing and I should host a giveaway soon. Tweet tweet chirp chirp.
Ps.. the lovely Claire informed me that my inspiration came from Setting for Four. Its true.. thats where I first saw this amazing idea! Thanks Claire!
Cross meet birdie wall art. Birdie wall art meet your new neighbor cross. Oh.. Im also obsessed with crosses. I have them all around my house. I have over 100 in my living room.. that are in a fun wave shape across the walls. That took my mom and I hours to do. Thats another post all together.
Bye bye birdie!

The post you're talking about is from Heather @ Setting For Four ๐
Every time I'm in Michaels I take a look at this wooden birdcage art and think “hmmm . . . can I use that somewhere?” If they mark it down enough I'll definitely buy one.

So pretty!! I love this idea of the fabric background and simple shapes make the art really jump out. If I figure out how to replicate your technique for my basement walls I'll let you know!
