Decorating Easter eggs is a family tradition in our house. I remember dipping eggs with my grandma and I am so excited to pass on the l’egg’acy to my kids. 😉
The biggest Easter tradition down here in South Texas is making (and breaking) cascarones. I think it means ‘confetti egg’ in Spanish.. and ‘big huge mess’ in mommy. But they are fun and simple to make. So I whipped up a few.
My favorite part is hollowing out the egg. Not sure why.. just makes me feel like a little kid. And dont worry about those eggs right there, they went on to make delicious Finnish pancakes the next day.
Let your eggs dry for a day or two. (Side note – shot glasses are perfect for holding eggs!)
Decorate your hollowed eggs and let them dry. Doesn’t pink and yellow scream ‘SPRING!’ to you?
Stuff them full of confetti and seal the opening with a piece of tissue paper. I was excited and mine werent fully dry. Thats ok because the tissue paper will cover an imperfections.
Once they are dry its time to break them! Its tradition to crack them on someones head, if you can catch them!

I think this is a great idea– I just have to get through the first part of cleaning the eggs out. I still find it a bit icky! : ) As a kid I am sure my mom did that part for me, now it's my turn. Thanks for the idea!
