Pumpkin pie stuffed donuts. I had to repeat it because just the name makes me drool. I originally shared this recipe over at Behind the Studio but had to make sure yall were in on the pumpkin pie stuffed donut action.
My favorite thing about fall is that pumpkins are everywhere! Its in our drinks, our décor, our crafts and most importantly – our food! I am so excited to share this tasty pumpkin pie stuffed donut recipe with yall! Its so simple to make (five ingredients simple!) and delicious that it just might become your new favorite easy homemade recipe for fall!
These are actually what I like to call ‘faux’-nuts because they are fired and I use refrigerated biscuits. Neither of these things make them any less yummy. You will need:
- 1 can of crescent rolls
- ½ can Pumpkin puree
- 2 tsp Pumpkin pie spice
- 4 oz Cream cheese
- 1 tbs Sugar
Mix your pumpkin puree, cream cheese, pumpkin pie spice and sugar until smooth.
Unroll two crescents and make a rectangle by pinching together the seams.
Put a spoonful of your pumpkin mixture in the middle and fold the crescents lengthwise. Take the two ends and pinch them together to form your donut shape. Bake according to the package, remove from oven and allow to cool.
I made a powdered sugar glaze for the topping. Mix half a sick of melted butter, with two cups of powdered sugar and a tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice. Spoon it on top of the donut and let it cool.
All that’s left now is to enjoy your pumpkin pie stuffed ‘faux’-nut. Just remember that one ‘faux’-nut equals two crescent rolls. Or don’t. I wont tell.
Here are some of my other favorite fall recipes:
