I love mojitos. Something about the smooth minty flavor that relaxes me. Or maybe thats the rum? Either way its delicious and its defiantly one of my favorite ‘adult beverages’. [I have maybe 3 or 4 favorites.. Im honestly not a big drinker.]
Mint
Lime
Sugar
Sparkling Water
White Rum
Im going to apologize for these pictures in advance. I was snapping away telling my husband and his friend Kyle how to pose and they just laughed at me. Kyle said ‘Is this your first drink? You seem to be documenting it pretty well.’ Ahh well. They will never understand the life of a big time blogger. 😉
Fill the glass with ice and squeeze your lemon into it. Take your mint and roll it between your hands to bring out the flavor before putting it in the glass. Then pour your rum and sparkling water over the ice, mint and lime. Stir in some sugar.
The only thing left to do is enjoy your drink. [And take awkward pictures of it on top of your sugar jar.] If your not an alcohol fan, this drink is delicious without the rum. I made one the next morning [without rum] and it was fantastic.

Mojitos are one of my favorite drinks. I used to make it exactly like this until a friend made it for me with a simple syrup instead of just adding sugar. A-mazing! Simple syrup is equal parts water with sugar and boiled. You cool the syrup and add it to the drink, instead of the sugar. Thanks so much for sharing at Whimsy Wednesdays.
