Need an easy way to keep track of what you’ve got in the freezer? I’ve got you covered!

Hey there! Have you ever searched through your freezer for something you swore you stashed away only to find it gone? Yea, me too! My problem is that I try to rely on my memory to help when it comes to whats in the freezer. And let me tell you, after 3 kids my memory isn’t as sharp as it used to be. Call it mom brain, if you will.

Oh I can remember where my son put his favorite pillow or my daughter’s ultra rare Shopkins is hiding. But remember what meat we have in the fridge for dinner? Whoa, whoa, whoa. That’s too much information for this ole noggin to remember.

So I made a freezer printable to help me and my noggin.

Our fridge is black so I wasn’t able to use the dry erase method like at our townhouse. This printable is the next best thing. Print out, check freezer, write down contents, stick on freezer and stop relying on your memory. When you take something out of the fridge just make sure to mark it off. Or you might end up promising dino nuggets for dinner and they are already gone. (Oh, the horror!)

Fruit and vegetable organizer

Looking for some easy kitchen organization ideas? I’ve got you covered!

Hey there! I am super excited to share my new fruit and vegetable organizer with yall today. I’m also conflicted about sharing it. Here’s why – I’m getting old if I am excited about kitchen organizer. And I realized that before I even got the veggie cart. I realized that I was getting old when I vacuumed the carpet and was giddy over the vacuum lines. (Ya know, the lines the vacuum leaves after you pull it away? Those.)

I am realllly enjoying my new found love for organization. And I’m sure it has nothing to do with age; that was just my first thought when I got excited.

When we moved I was able to purge a lot of junk. Our church was having a rummage sale around the same time so we loaded up the usable stuff and donated it them. It was a win-win. We were able to start fresh when we moved into the new house and they received good item to sell. Don’t get me wrong, we still had a ton of junk when we moved though.

One of the things that I promised myself to do was to clean the kitchen every night before heading to bed. Big dreams, right? I was pretty good at doing the dishes and wiping down the counters but I had a pile problem. I would just move piles of stuff from one side of the counter to the other when I needed to clean.

One of my piles was our fruit and vegetable stash. Potatoes, onions, oranges, apples. They all got shifted from counter to counter. I finally had enough and told Ryon I wanted a veggie cart for Christmas.

I gave him freedom to get whatever he thought would be good for the kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this metal utility cart. I was excited to open it and get it set up. It ended up fitting perfectly underneath our counter in a little nook we have. I made sure to load it up with produce as soon as it was nestled in it’s little spot.

Potatoes on bottom, onions, and garlic in the middle (and a few extras) and citrus on top. I just love it! And see how it fits perfectly under the counter? Squeee! It makes my organizational heart happy. (Which is a new part of my heart that I didn’t know existed until recently.)

It also makes it easier to meal plan. I am able to see what produce we have available and what I need to add to our grocery list. (You can grab a free grocery list AND menu planner HERE.)

Easy spice organization

Looking to tidy up your spice cabinet? I’ve got you covered!

SQUEAL! I am so excited to share my new spice organization with yall! Do you ever have a project in your head and then it comes out exactly how your imagined?? That’s my new spice wall! I LOVE IT!

I have a bajillion spices. Like way too many and probably more then the average person. It would take me forever to find a specific spice and I would end up knocking over at least 3 others in the process. It was a PAIN! I was offered the chance to try the new Espon LabelWorks portable printer and I knew exactly what I was going to use it for.

SPICE ORGANIZATION! And that’s really all I knew at the time. It wasn’t til I was talking around World Market and I saw these super cute magnetic spice jars that I figured it out. I bought the jars and then tried to figure out how I would hang them. My friend Michelle and I made a quick trip to Home Depot and we found the perfect piece of tin. (Similar to this tin here.)

A few screws later and the tin was up and ready.

I started pouring them into the magnetic jars. I then grabbed my Epson label maker (THAT WORKS VIA MY PHONE!) and started making labels for the jars. I had to connect the mini printer via Bluetooth and it was ready to go. I started out with the printer tape it came with but realized that the clear labels looked the best.

After cutting the tape down to size and adding them to the jars, I was ready to hang them up! Ahhh the moment of truth. Would it look as good as I hand imaged? Would all the jars hold up on the tin? Would I love it? Yes, yes and yes! It turned out absolutely perfect.

Here is exactly what I used to set up my spice wall:

1 piece of tin (found at Home depot)
15 magnetic spice jars (found at World Market)
6 screws and a drill
Espon LabelWorks Portable Printer and clear printer tape

Position the tin on the wall you are planning to use. Make sure its straight! (We just eye balled it.) Using a drill, put 6 screws in – 3 along each long side of the tin. Fill your spice jars with your desired spices. Print out labels and attach them to the front of the jars. Put jars on the tin. Stand back and enjoy your new spice wall!

Super easy freezer organization

I love love love to have a freezer full of food. It makes my life that much easier when I dont have to run to the dreaded grocery store every other day. And it also helps with my menu planning. I just pop open the freezer and take inventory of what I can use for the week.

Seems easy enough right? Open freezer.. move food around.. write down menu.. reopen freezer to double check to make sure you actually got the menu correct. Repeat.

Ya.. not the best system. But it was all I had. Then one magical day a solution appeared. An easy way to track what was in your freezer. And to help bring organization into my life.

One of my friends pinned this simple way to track what you have in your freezer. And I think my jaw hit the floor. So simple! So clever! So doing this.. right now!

I wasnt too sure about this whole dry erase marker on the fridge thing so I did a little test spot first.

And it totally worked! The marker wiped right off. And so did most of the smudge marks that were already there. I may or may not have squealed with excitement.

Look! Organization! And so neat too! Ahhhh.. I love it. I know whats in my freezer.. and when I take it out I erase it from the list.

Are you still there? Or did you just go search for a dry erase marker? I would totally understand if you dont even finish this post.. just get up and start writing on your fridge!

I must warn you though.. writing on the fridge is addicting. The next day my husband joined in the fun and left me a sweet note before he went hunting. Later that day my toddler thought it was a free for all and added her own special design. (Thank you inventor of the washable crayon!)
