Looking for an easy and fun Christmas gift? We’ve got you covered!
Hi! I’m Emily from 52 Mantels, where I blog about all things crafty. I’m so excited that Kelley has asked me to be a part of this awesome series! I love handmade gifts, both the giving and receiving of. Today I’m going to show you an easy gift idea that’s perfect for the neighbors, coworkers, teachers or as a hostess gift for all of those Christmas parties we’ve been invited to!
Candy Cane Hot Cocoa Mix. Simple, fun and under $10. Sounds like a winner to me! I started this project with a hot cocoa mix recipe from allrecipes but, let me be honest, it wasn’t good. So, I added, tweaked and changed until I got the right combo of ingredients. I’m not even going to point you to the original recipe since I just called it bad not good.

I added some yarn and twine to my jars plus a cute tag. I also included marshmallows in ziplock bags. The large jar got the marshmallows tucked inside the jar with the mix and the small jars will be given with the marshmallows on the side.

I absolutely love those labels & the idea of candy cane hot cocoa. I have given our neighbors hot cocoa mix for Christmas for about 4 years (but not fancy with candy canes). Just last year one of the moms asked me where I buy the chocolate marshmellows because her kids love them & she has looked for them since the first year I gave them hot cocoa. I laughed because they are normal marshmellows that get covered in cocoa powder when in the mix.
Thanks for sharing your recipe.
