This weekend passed by in warp speed. I was super busy and the hubs was on call/working both days. Quick look at what we did.. in two days..
Saturday – Ryley’s dance class, grocery shopping for two parties, started a baby shower gift, made a baby carriage out of a watermelon (see below), cleaned our house and cooked birthday dinner for friends (pics to come)
Sunday – cut tons of fruit, made 4 gift baskets, decorated for the shower, played hostess at the shower, cleaned the hall, chased a little monster around, passed out in front of the tv
Im exhausted reading all that. Im going to make this a quick post and go snuggle with my little man.
I was in charge of the fruit for the baby shower. I didnt want any plan ole fruit tray, so I headed over to my trusty friend pinterest and found a tutorial for a baby carriage watermelon bowl. Yes please! Wanna know how easy this was? Check it out..
Check the watermelon in half.. but only go half way down.
*side note – try to buy a melon with a flat bottom*
Flip it up and cut it until you reach your first cut.
Remove the the piece you just cut and put it aside.
Use a melon baller and scoop out the melon.
Take the piece you set aside and make a handle.. secure with toothpicks.
Make decorative wheels out of cardstock and attach with toothpicks.
Done! And soooo adorable! I made it the night before and stuck it in the fridge until Sunday. And after the shower there was no fruit left over.. I think it was because of how cute the the bowl turned out. Ha! 😉 What fun thing did you do this weekend? I’d love to see it!
