Following from a guest post on MiMi's blog, now off to follow from another guest post. Bonus to me for getting to find two great new blogs today.

And I am a working mom, too. I often find myself sighing, wishing I could stay at home, but I know I'd loose my mind. And my super awesome hubby would fit right in in that picture. Cheers to great husbands for us working wives!

Hi! I know this isn't in tandem with your latest post, but I was reading your about me and curious as to which state you were from when I saw your pictures (you're kids are so adorable, btw!). It's great to meet another Texas blogger! My boyfriend moved here to Texas from Michigan, as well. We've talked about moving back there when I'm finally finished with my degree (it's taking WAY too long), but I've heard many stories like yours where it just didn't work out.

Again, it's great to browse around your blog! Please come check mine out sometime and leave feedback! I've followed you from Google, as well :-)

Thanks and have a great week!

Sarah B Texas
http://sarahbtexas.blogspot.com

No, hon - you are not alone. I did stay home my son's first 3 years - but worked with my daughter - I would not want to be a SAHM again - my kids are grown with kids of their own now. I work for the school system so I have my summers off - which I love - but I wouldn't want to do it year round - especially not with little ones. More power to the ones who do! My daughter thinks she would like to, but honestly - I do think she would be ready to pull her hair out and would want to be back to work within 2 months. I do hope she gets the opportunity to try someday - right now it just isn't in their budget.

I think I have to agree with Tiffany on this one - I'd go nuts if I had to stay at home. And having had a working mom myself, I don't think it's a problem for children if they have one. They can get more independent, have more than one / two attachment figures, learn to take responsibility by helping at home...
It's not just about the money, but also about pension rights later on in life (and most people just compare the monthly outcome of both parents working).
But eventually, everyone has to decide on their own what is best for their families.
