Okay, returning to this, I've solved my problem. I added another 1/2 cup of flour and a teaspoon of corn starch. The cookies don't spread too much now!! And they taste almost exactly like Starbucks! Also when I don't add the extra flour and corn starch, they're actually perfect for mini pizookies with how they spread and fill up the skillet.

10/10, so yummy.

Hmm. They are a thinner cookie but not paper thin. Maybe your baking powder was bad?

Not sure what happened. I followed the recipe exactly and they cam out paper thin! I also was surprised to see no salt in the recipe. I had to triple read it thinking I surely missed it somewhere. What could be changed to make them a little thicker? I'm not expecting Starbucks thick, but I also wasn't expecting a wafer cookie.

Made this recipe with my son and it made way bigger cookies than anticipated. I was also surprised that there is zero salt in the recipe. Next time I make it I will likely either use salted butter or add sea salt on top after baking. These are very sweet with not much balance. I think the salt could really help balance out the flavor.
