Your's is truly a unique story! I can't imagine having to go through labor without my husband, though I know many women have to and before recent decades they all did! How wonderful that you have supportive and available parents… and skype! Eli is gorgeous! I've heard a lot of good things about having a baby in France, but it sounds like everything worked out just fine even though you hadn't made it there yet. 🙂

I love that you made the most out of your husband being away during delivery. What a great idea to skype! You will always remember Eli's birth (and so will your hubby!). Beautiful pictures. Congratulations!

How neat for technology. I remember my first delivery it happened to be take your daughter to work day and the nurse asked if her daughter could come in and watch. Her daughter was in middle school and she was hoping seeing the experience would persuade her against premarital sex. Modesty had all but gone out the window at that point, so I said sure. I have never seen a child more horrified in my life. I hope she remembers that day!
