Mine always seems to do this as well….I’ve made it at least a half dozen times and this has happened every time. It turns a tan-ish color, almost brown. ugh!

Yes, maybe that affected the color. As long as it tasted good though! Sounds like you got a whole batch to yourself! YUM!

I’m trying to figure out why mine turned out tanish brown. I’m thinking it came from the Sweetened condensed milk since that was tan, but it’s even darker than that. Not burned. It has a good flavor but I think the color turned my family off from it. Lol

I have made it in the Crock Pot. In 2018 when I first made the recipe, I had not made it in the slow cooker. Since then I have made it in the slow cooker and the Instant Pot, which is why I feature both of those recipes. I hope you enjoy!
